Electronic Literature Exhibit at the MLA 2012 Convention

Going to MLA in January? Consider attending the first ever electronic literature event at the Modern Language Association Convention in Seattle.

From the Electronic Literature Exhibit at the MLA website:

“Electronic Literature” is an exhibit featuring over 100 works by artists who create literary works involving various forms and combinations of digital media, such as video, animation, sound, virtual environments, and multimedia installations, for desktop computers, mobile devices, and live performance. The works presented at this exhibit have been carefully selected by the curators because they represent a cross-section of born digital literary work from countries like Brazil, Canada, Australia, Sweden, the UK, the US, and Spain, and highlight literary art produced from the late 1980s to the present. Thus, the exhibit aims to provide humanities scholars with the opportunity to experience, first-hand, this emergent form of literature, one that we see as an important form of expression in, as Jay David Bolter calls it, this “late age of print.”

2012 Catalog Announced

SpringGun Press is excited to announce the titles and authors to be included in the 2012 catalog. After the Summer open reading period, three books of poetry have been chosen to be published in Spring 2012. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all who sent their wonderful manuscripts to the open reading period.

The 2012 titles are:

Congratulations to Adam, Chad, Joe, and Lily-we are so excited about getting these wonderful volumes into the world. Books will be available for purchase at the SpringGun Press/Subito Press table at the AWP Bookfair in Chicago in the Table Y section and online at http://springgunpress.com/books. Other outlets will be announced as they become available.

On a lighter note, we promise that the consistency of a “The _____” title system was purely coincidental.

Lily Ladewig is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst M.F.A. Program for Poets and Writers. Her poems have appeared in Conduit, Denver Quarterly, H_NGM_N, Salt Hill, and SUPERMACHINE. Adam Peterson is the co-editor of The Cupboard- a quarterly prose chapbook series. He lives in Houston, TX.
